VibeUE
In my last post I mentioned that during my Unreal Engine vibe coding experiments I was struggling with UMG and Blueprints. I looked at what was currently out there for tools and didn’t find anything that I liked so I created one.
Check it out. Free and Open Source.
VibeUE bridges the gap between traditional Unreal Engine development and modern AI-assisted coding workflows. It provides seamless integration with Visual Studio Code, allowing developers to work with UMG widgets and Blueprints more efficiently.
Key Features
- VS Code Integration: Work with Unreal Engine directly from your favorite editor
- Blueprint Support: Better handling of Blueprint workflows
- UMG Enhancement: Improved UMG widget development experience
- AI-Friendly: Designed to work well with AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot
Why VibeUE?
During my experiments with “vibe coding” (AI-assisted development), I found that existing tools didn’t provide the smooth workflow I needed for Unreal Engine development, particularly when working with UMG and Blueprints. VibeUE solves these pain points by providing:
- Better integration between VS Code and Unreal Engine
- Streamlined Blueprint development workflow
- Enhanced UMG widget creation and management
- Tools designed specifically for AI-assisted development
The tool is completely free and open source, so the community can contribute and improve it together.
This is part of my ongoing exploration of AI-assisted game development. Check out my other posts about vibe coding and Unreal Engine development.
